He won 2 American League Cy Young Awards while he was with the Kansas City Royals.

Almost all the good players they had they lost them to other teams. In 1994 David Cone did get American League Cy Young Award but it still wasn’t enough to make Royals a stronger team. Also that same year Bob Hamelin received rookie of the year award, but that also didn’t help them. They just weren’t strong enough to play against other teams. Kansas City Royals struggled during mid and late 1990s. Even now days they are not the same as they used to be. Maybe in 2005 Kansas City Royals can do something better and win again.
