Atlanta Braves are a professional Baseball team located in Atlanta, Georgia. They are widely known for their outstanding record history of 13 successive championships winners(from 1991 to 2004). in 1995, they had their one World Series championship. Atlanta Braves team was founded in 1871 in Boston, Massachusetts as a National Association club. In 1876 the club became a member of the National League and has remained in the league without a break. The Braves are considered to be the oldest continuously operating sports franchise in North American sports. 1912-1952 they were Formerly known as Boston Braves; Milwaukee Braves In 1953-1965. The Boston team had many informal nicknames. In the 1870s and 1880s they were called "Red Stockings" ; In the 1890s and early 1900s they were called "Beaneaters" ; "Rustlers" in the year 1911. Following the 1935 season, Bob Quinn, the new team owner suggested to a team of sportswriters to choose a new nickname for the team because they had faced bankruptcy and poor seasons. The sportswriters chose "Bees", but the name wasn't really used; even Quinn him self refused to use it. in 1941, The team went back to the old name "Braves". Atlanta Braves play in Turner Field, an outdoor stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. Turner Field is known as "The Ted"; It was named after the owner, Ted Turner. Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games (ACOG) paid 200 million dollars to build the stadium as a gift.
