From 1961-1965 the Angels played as guests of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Wrigley Field, which seated 20,047, played host to the Angels. The Dodgers acquired Wrigley from the Cubs in a trade. The Cubs had built Wrigley in LA in the 1920s opening on September 27, 1925. The LA Angels, members of the PCL, played in Wrigley Field until the late 1950s. After their great success in the1961 season (8th in a ten-team league), the Angels rented Dodger Stadium in 1962 from 1965, where they wanted to draw larger crowds. This worked somewhat, but they moved to their own home in 1966, "The Big A" in Anaheim.
